Beurer BM 53 upper arm blood pressure monitor with atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection

The Beurer BM 53 is a very good clinically validated upper arm blood pressure monitor from the German quality brand Beurer. The BM 53 is equipped with many functionalities to make a reliable blood pressure measurement. This way, the blood pressure monitor can automatically take 3 measurements in a row. With a triple measurement you get a more accurate picture of your actual blood pressure. The blood pressure monitor can also recognize atrial fibrillation (AFib). If this is present, it will be displayed on the screen by means of a symbol. Furthermore, the BM 3 has a memory function for saving the measurements, a cuff control system and a rest indicator on board to make the measurements even more reliable.

The Beurer BM 53 is supplied with a universal flexible cuff with an upper arm circumference of 22 – 42 cm. The blood pressure monitor has a clearly illuminated screen, from which you can easily read the measured blood pressure values. The blood pressure monitor measures both blood pressure and heart rate and immediately checks whether an irregular heartbeat is present. If this is the case, this will be shown with a symbol on the screen. The WHO traffic light indicator on the right side of the screen allows you to see at a glance whether blood pressure is normal or elevated.

The blood pressure monitor is suitable for 2 users, each with 100 memory locations. This way, 2 people can keep an eye on blood pressure. The memory function can also be used to calculate the average of all measurements and the weekly average of both the morning and evening can be calculated. In addition, the blood pressure monitor has a cuff control system, which indicates whether the cuff has been applied correctly. This will then be shown with a symbol on the screen.

The BM 53 is equipped with the Beurer patented rest indicator. It is very important to take enough rest before a blood pressure measurement in order to get the most accurate reading. The blood pressure values ​​at rest are the "real" blood pressure values. For example, if you immediately measure blood pressure after a walk, incorrect values ​​will be obtained and a wrong diagnosis can be made. The Beurer rest indicator can determine whether the blood pressure is recorded at rest or not on the basis of the blood circulation. This is then displayed on the screen by means of a symbol.
